Greetings from Hobgood Academy! Established in 1970, it serves K-12 students from Edgecombe, Halifax, Martin, Nash, and Pitt counties. Located in Hobgood, North Carolina, a small rural town east of Rocky Mount, it boasts an enrollment that flucuates between 250 and 275 students, creating a small-town atmosphere of friendship and cooperation.

The Hobgood campus provides for many activities, whether educational or extra-curricular. Its three main classroom buildings correspond to the grades which utilize them: elementary, middle, and high school. The middle school building houses the library and both the high school and elementary buildings house computer labs. Additionally, the campus offers several activity-specific buildings, such as the weight training building and the woodshop. The athletic facilities are comprised of the gym and baseball, softball, and football/soccer fields.

From football to golf or from Quiz Bowl to Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the activities never cease; yet, the primary focus remains the academic preparation of each student for college. Hobgood's faculty dedicates themselves to the continual education of each child. In addition to English, History, Math, and Science, the student body may participate in various other electives - the arts, horticulture, physical education, technology, teen living, Spanish, study skills, and woodshop - throughout their education. During their senior year, local colleges even offer courses on campus which enables students to enter college with up to twelve hours of college credit.

I, along with the Board of Trustees, Faculty, and Staff work diligently to ensure the students not only a comprehensive and exciting education, but also a safe and friendly environemnt. If you are interested in learning about how Hobgood's program can benefit your child, please contact us! We would be delighted to meet with you and show you our school!
